Donald Lipski's Sculpture of Spot, the Gigantic Dalmatian Puppy Holding a Yellow Taxi at Langone Children's Hospital

If you go to 34th street and First avenue you will find Spot the Dog, a 38-foot-tall ( 2 1/2 story) fiberglass statue of a Dalmatian puppy balancing a New York City yellow cab on its nose. The car is a real Toyota Prius that was gutted out. The taxi cab is wired so that its headlights illuminate Spot when it gets dark. When it rains, the cab's wipers turn on.

Spot's artist, Donald Lipski, created the massive sculpture in front of the entrance to a children's hospital. The hospital was co founded by the Hassenfeld family, which started the Hasbro toy company.

Without a doubt, the sculpture has toy qualities and will put a smile on any child's face. The sculpture has been around since 2018, and is a must-see for anyone who loves art.
