76 Year Old Colorado Lady with Dementia was Mauled to Death by Family Dogs

La Vonne Hoff, lived in Colorado City, about 140 miles south of Denver with her daughter, 54 dogs and 7 birds. Her daughter, Jessica Hoff, 47 was charged with negligence by the Pueblo police for leaving her 76 year old mother who had dementia alone. While gone, a few of the dogs that were allowed to roam in the house attacked Jessica Hoff's mother, and by the time the sheriff arrived the 76 year old lady was unconscious.
The sheriff also reported that there were 2 dozen dogs in cages and 7 birds. The conditions were described as unsanitary and several of the dogs were in poor health. Jessica Hoff was charged with criminal negligence and 54 counts of aggravated cruelty to to animals.
